Earn as you Burn

A little wager got me motivated to join my local gym and sign up. An earn while you burn scheme was on and I thought to myself, what can be more motivating than getting paid to actually lose weight? Exactly, nothing!

Anyways, going back 3 months, I signed up to the gym and since then I have been an active member, trying to burn off calories and on the other hand, earn some cash! For extra motivation, I had also made one of my friends sign up with me so I got someone who can push me through an intense workout when I’m really struggling.

The ‘Earn as you Burn’ scheme enabled me to reach my goal and personally I managed to satisfy myself. However, once the goal is achieved, I believe the key is to go that extra yard as success can be never ending.

So, 3 months later, I’m still a regular attendant of the gym and I’m managing to keep fit, with my strength and stamina massively improving.

Joining the gym and the motivation that made me strive through it showed me that if you put your mind to something you want to do in life, it is definitely achievable, you just got to push yourself to the limit.

Is football a sport or a business?

As mega rich multimillionaire businessmen have become involved in the sport of football, some may say that it has ruined the beautiful game whereas others will say it has benefitted football by globalising the game.

Clubs have constantly been breaking record after record in the transfer window due to high player valuation and demand. The mega riches of football had first came into power in 2003 under Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, who had taken full control of Chelsea. Since his arrival, the West Londoners have splashed the cash on a lot of players, including former Ukrainian player of the year Andriy Shevchenko for £30 million.

Ever since 2011, the Arabs had also got involved in football ownership as billionaire Sheikh Mansour had taken charge of Manchester City. The unlimited budget that former Man City manager Roberto Mancini had was quite jaw dropping and he certainly did not shy away from spending the money on big name players such as Samir Nasri, David Silva and Yaya Toure.

Nowadays, players are prepared to leave their clubs for a ridiculous transfer amount and even for a higher wage. In the current transfer window, the dramatic transfer saga surrounding Gareth Bale is very exaggerating. A tug of war between Tottenham Hotspurs and Real Madrid has voiced a lot of negative opinions around the footballing globe.

I personally believe the amount offered is truly despicable and disrespectful to the fact that footballers are not playing with enough loyalty and love for the game, but instead they are money motivated.

However, big clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal have managed to abide by the financial fair play rule, which may certainly affect the big spenders of the Premier League as the controlling of finance per club is getting a lot stricter.
