Serena Williams sets up a rematch for the US Open final

Serena Williams brushed her opponent Li Na aside as she progressed into her seventh US Open Final with a 6-0 6-3 victory. The victory means that Serena has set up a match with Victoria Azarenka. Williams broke Li Na five times whereas Li broke Williams only once.

The current World number one blitzed through the opening set against an uncomfortable and nervy looking Li Na. Williams managed to complete her victory in just under 90 minutes.

The Chinese sportswoman had a glimpse of hope as she won the second game of the second set and she had also managed to take the lead against Williams. However, Williams proved to be too powerful as she bounced back straight away.

Serena Williams broke Li Na’s serve for the fifth time in the next to lead 4-2 and the scoreline instantly changed to 5-2 after another routine service game.

Serena Williams will now face a rematch of the 2012 final against Azarenka as she is in the hunt for a fifth US Open title.
